duo, the Stolzenberg Brothers (Dennis & Ken) who are based in Wondai in the
South Burnett have recently returned to the Club/Pub circuit after a long
break. The “boys” have been
singing together since they were 9 and 7 years of age, respectively. They have been singing together as a duo since 1960.
They performed for several years with a 6 piece dance band “The Hotshots”
who were Queensland ’s top dance band at that time.
Dennis and Ken then moved to Brisbane .
Prior to 1980 they extensively toured Queensland & Northern New South Wales
as a cabaret act. Their sweet
harmonies are likened to the Everly Brothers and it is this that makes their
performances“unique”. They have
made appearances on TV and radio. Their performances are very popular with all
age groups. Dennis and Ken also perform with an old time dance band “The
Revivilles”. Their honest and
professional qualities are portrayed on stage.
Their new show, “We’re Back”, is being very well received by all age groups. They perform a wide range of material namely 50’s/60’s, Rock’n’roll, Country (new & old) & also add a hint of comedy to their act.
The
“Stolzies” have two current CD’s – “We’re Back” which features
some original material, and the hit song “Leichhardt’s Ghost”
(written by Buddy Thompson) which received a lot of air play, especially on
the ABC, and is on the “Bush Balladeer’s Vol. 3”.
Their second album “Retro” which is all cover songs, some of
which they perform in their show.
